Eszopiclone 1 mg tablets available by brand names Lunesta 1 mg tablets (international) and Zopipure 1 mg tablets (national) belongs to the class of drugs known as hypnotics and sedatives.

Uses:

Eszopiclone 1mg tablets are used for the treatment of insomnia. Lunesta 1 mg tablets work by increasing the amount of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain which helps in slowing the brain activity. Slowing down the activity of the brain helps in better sleep. The drug maintains longer sleep with fewer wakes up disturbances.

 

Dosage:

Dosage of Zopipure 1mg tablets varies depending upon your age and the condition of your liver. The medicine is not recommended for children.

  • Initial dosage is 1 mg per day taken before going to bed.
  • If this is not working then dosage can be increased to 2-3 mg per day before going to bed.
  • Maximum dosage is 3 mg per day before going to bed.

 

Caution:

The medicine should be used for the treatment for up to 1 or 2 weeks not more than that.
