Details

Vinorelbine 10mg, 50mg Injection is an anti cancer drug belonging to the group vinca alkaloids.

Vinca alkaloids are structurally the same and derived from periwinkle plants, Vinca rosea but they have different pharmaceutical properties.

Vinorelbine (VRB) is one of the vinca alkaloids which is less neurotoxic than others.

It is cell cycle specific and affects the mitosis of tumor cells in the M phase and generally used in the combination with other anticancer drugs.

Mechanism of action: It acts by binding to the tubulin protein that blocks the tubulin to form microtubules instead paracrystalline aggregates are formed. This nonfunctional apparatus is frozen in metaphase preventing chromosomal segregation and cancer cell proliferation.

It is available as Navelbine in International and Vinorelmil  in Indian markets.
