Details
Vardenafil 20mg Oral Jelly are used in the treatment of sexual problems in men such as erectile dysfunction and impotence. It is known with the brand name Levitra and Staxyn internationally. In India, it is known as Valif.
How does it work?
Vardenafil 20mg Oral Jelly belong to phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. So, when the drug is administered into the body it acts by inhibiting cGMP of PDE5 resulting in sexual stimulation along with the increased blood flow into the penis causing an erection.
Dosage:
- Valif drug dose depends upon the condition of the patient so that is why take it according to the doctor’s advice.
- Carefully read the instruction given on the tablet leaflet or patient information leaflet present in the pharmacist before taking the medication.
- The recommended dose of the drug is 20mg once daily before 30 to 60 minutes of sexual intercourse.
- It can be increased up to 20mg by the doctor depending on the patient’s condition.
- The drug is taken with or without food orally.
- Do Not crush or chew the tablet. Swallow it wholly.
- The drug’s action may be decreased if it is taken after a high-fat meal.
- Staxyn should not be used by children below 18 years of age.
Side effects:
- The common side effects of Vardenafil 20mg Oral Jelly include headache, dizziness, flushing, blurred vision, difficulty in identifying the colours. If these symptoms become troublesome, seek immediate medical help.
- Upset stomach, muscle spasm, hypersensitivity reactions such as rashes, itchiness, and swelling may be observed.
- Chest pain left arm, and jaw ache, nausea, severe dizziness are serious effects that immediate doctors consult.
- Seizures and transient global amnesia can be seen in rare conditions.
- If a painful or prolonged erection is observed for more than 4 hours, then stop the use of Valif medicines and consult your doctor immediately.
Contraindications:
- Let your doctor know if you have any sensitivity reactions with the drug or the active constituent present in Vardenafil 20mg Oral Jelly
- Intake of this drug along with nitrates or nitric acid derivatives is strictly prohibited.
- Levitra is contraindicated in patients who are diagnosed with stroke in the past, or hypotension, and angina.
- This drug causes dizziness. Hence, driving is avoided after the administration of this drug.
- Alcohol intake is prohibited during this medication therapy.
- Valif tablets do not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.
Don’t take this drug along with similar drugs that are used to treat erectile dysfunction problems such as sildenafil.
