Uses:

Utrogestan 100 mg, 200 mg capsules are available as soft capsules which release progesterone. Its various uses are:

• For the fertility treatment (if your body does not produce enough progesterone to maintain pregnancy).
• To prevent preterm birth.
• As hormone replacement therapy to decrease symptoms of menopause.
• For the treatment of amenorrhea (a condition in which menstrual cycle has been stopped for several months).

 

Dosage:

Dosage of Utrogestan 100 mg, 200 mg capsules vary on the type of disorder to be treated and patient’s response towards the first dose.

• Fertility treatment: Two tablets of 100 mg once daily starring from 12^th day or 15^th day to 26^th day of each menstrual cycle.
  • One tablet of 100 mg once daily, starts from day 1 to day 25 of each menstrual cycle.

• Prevent preterm birth- 200 mg daily at bed time starting from 16^th week to 36^th week of pregnancy.

• Assisted reproductive technology- 600 mg per day in divided doses staring from the first day of embryo transfer to 7^th This should not exceed after 12^th week.
