Details
Minoxidil 5% + Aminexil 1.5% Solution used to treat hair loss on the scalp. This solution is mainly used to treat alopecia, hair loss in the crown region of the head. It is sold under the brand name Tricosilk Max all over the world.
How does it work?
Tricosilk Max is the combination of two drugs i.e., Minoxidil and Aminexil. When the topical solution is applied to the scalp Minoxidil acts as a vasodilator that relaxes the blood vessels and helps in the free flow of the blood into the scalp resulting in the growth of hair. Aminexel acts by suppressing anĀ enzyme that causes an increase in protein substance (collagen) around the hair follicle.
Dosage:
- Minoxidil 5% + Aminexil 1.5% Solution dose depends on the patient’s condition that is why take it according to the doctor’s advice.
- Read out the instructions provided on the solution label carefully and apply as advised by the physician.
- Wash your hands before and after applying the Tricosilk Max solution.
- Clean out the area which is affected (scalp) before applying this solution.
- If this drug comes in contact with your eyes and then thoroughly wash your eyes with water immediately.
- It is a long term use of medication. Do not stop the use of these drugs until advised by the doctor.
Side effects:
- Minoxidil 5% + Aminexil 1.5% Solution have fewer side effects as these drugs show effective responses in many patients.
- The common side effects of this drug include irritation at the site of application, rashes, itching and burning sensation. These symptoms will disappear once your body starts to adjust to drugs.
- Severe headaches may be seen.
- Irregular heartbeat, sudden weight gain, swelling are rare side effects if appears get immediate medical help
Contraindications:
- Have a word with your doctor if you have any hypersensitivity reaction with the drug or with any active constituents present in the Minoxidil 5% + Aminexil 1.5% Solution.
- Do let your doctor know if you are on any other medications so that he can alter or adjust the drug.
- There are no clinical studies that suggest there is a risk to the baby. However, consult your doctor if you are pregnant.
- This medication is safe to use in lactating mothers.
- Consult your doctor if you have any cardiovascular disease before applying this solution.
- There are no interactions found in the patients who take alcohol along with the Tricosilk Max solution.
This drug does not interact with patients who have liver disorders and renal impairment.
