Cyclosporin 100mg per ml Injection or drink solution in 50ml pack is an immunosuppressant that prevents organ rejection after a liver, kidney, or heart transplant. Sandimmun Neoral is the universal brand name of this drug. It is a cyclic polypeptide that consists of 11 amino acids.

Purpose:

• It is used for the treatment of patients where methotrexate did not adequately respond to the disease of severe rheumatoid arthritis.
• Used as an alternative in patients for whom the systematic therapies did not work or were contraindicated.
• Nonimmunocompromised patients with severe plaque psoriasis who failed to respond to retinoids are treated with Cyclosporin 100mg per ml Injection or drink solution in 50ml pack.

 

Mechanism:

Sandimmun Neoral suppresses the humoral immunity and cell-mediated immune reactions as well, such as delayed hypersensitivity, allograft rejection, adjuvant arthritis, and graft versus host disease. It reversibly inhibits immunocompetent lymphocytes of the cell cycle at the G0 and G1 phase.

 

Dosage:

• As directed by your physician/doctor.
• For effective results, you can take it once a day at the same time every day.
• One teaspoon of Cyclosporin 100mg per ml Injection or drink solution in 50ml pack can be mixed in milk, chocolate shake, or orange juice to improve the taste of it.

 

Side effects:

• Swelling and unusual growth of gums due to the usage of Sandimmun Neoral drink solution.
• There can be a rise in your blood pressure. Keep a close check on it regularly.
• If you experience any signs of dark urine, chest pain, seizures, confusion, convulsions, change in the amount of urine, difficulty in concentrating, vision changes, clumsiness, loss of coordination, problems in speech, or weakness in the body, consult your doctor right away before the situation worsens.

 

Precautions and measures:

• If you have ever had a medical history of high blood pressure, cancer, kidney disease, liver disease, skin lesions, mineral imbalance, high cholesterol, or any recent infections, inform your doctor about the same before getting on this medication of Sandimmun Neoral.
