Ramiven 100mg Tablets is an advanced oral cancer medication formulated with abemaciclib, designed to treat hormone receptor-positive (HR+), HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. This targeted therapy helps stop the spread of cancer cells and is often used alongside hormonal treatments like fulvestrant or letrozole to improve long-term disease control.

Uses:

  • Commonly prescribed in combination with endocrine therapy
  • Effective in premenopausal and postmenopausal women
  • Helps slow progression in patients resistant to hormonal therapies

How it Works:

Ramiven contains abemaciclib, which selectively blocks cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK4 & CDK6). These enzymes are essential for cancer cell division.

Dosage:

  • The tablets are usually administered twice a day by mouth, regardless of meals.
  • Dosage may be modified based on patient response and side effects

Side Effects:

  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Low white blood cell count (neutropenia)
  • Fatigue
  • Reduced appetite

Precautions:

  • Regular monitoring of liver enzymes and blood cell counts is necessary
  • Use effective contraception during and for at least 3 weeks post-treatment
  • Not recommended when pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Let your physician know if you’ve ever experienced respiratory conditions or lung-related concerns before starting treatment.
  • Hydration and nutrition should be maintained during therapy

Contraindications:

  • Allergy or hypersensitivity to abemaciclib
  • Severe liver disease
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Uncontrolled infections
  • Concurrent use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors without medical supervision

Interactions:

  • Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole) can increase drug levels
  • Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interfere with metabolism
  • Use caution with anticoagulants
  • Interaction risk with other cancer therapies and immunosuppressants
