Paracetamol 1000mg Infusion is used as first-line therapy for the treatment of analgesics. These medications produce fast and effective relief from pain. It is sold under the brand name Perfalgan all over the world.

Uses:

  • These injections effectively relieve the pain for a short term in case of surgery.
  • Perfalgan is also used to relieve moderate to severe pain caused by headaches, menstrual cycles, and musculoskeletal pain.
  • Fever can be caused by severe health problems. Therefore these infusions are used to produce temporary relief from fever.

 

How does it work?

Paracetamol 1000mg Infusion belongs to analgesic and antipyretics. When the drug is administered into the body it acts by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins which cause pain and fever) which results in decreasing the intensity of the pain signal in the brain showing its action.

 

Dosage:

  • The dose of Perfalgan injection depends on the condition of the patient that is why take it according to doctors’ advice.
  • It should be administered by a health care professional or nurse in the clinic.
  • The recommended dose is 10mg through an intravenous route for 15 minutes.
  • It shows effective results from pain and fever within 15-30 minutes after the administration.
  • These medication effects last for 4-6 hours. You can take the next dose if the pain doesn’t go away.
