Paroxetine 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg tablets available by brand names Paxil 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg tablets and Seroxat 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg tablets (international) and Pari 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg tablets (national) are anti-depressants.

Uses:

Paxil 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg tablets works by balancing the levels of serotonin in the brain. Its various uses are:

  • For treating depression, panic disorder and anxiety.
  • For treating obsessive compulsive disorder.
  • For the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

 

Dosage:

Dosage of Seroxat 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg tablets varies according to the type of disorder to be treated.

  • Panic disorder- Initially 10 mg/day one time. This can be increased by 10 mg once in a week but not more than 60 mg/day.
  • Depression- Initially 20 mg/day one time which can be increased by 10 mg once in a week but not more than 50 mg/day.
  • Phobia- 20 mg/day one time.
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder- Initially 20 mg/day which may be increased by 10 mg once in a week not more than 50 mg/day.
  • Premenstrual dysphoric disorder: 12.5 mg/day not more than 25 mg/day.
