Chloramphenicol 1% Ointment with brand name Chloromycetin 1% Ointment and Paraxin 1% Ointment (international) and Paraxin 1% Ointment (national), is a topical antibiotic.

Uses:

Chloromycetin 1% Ointment is used to treat serious bacterial infections. The medicine is capable of fighting gram-negative bacteria that causes infections such as meningitis and rickettsia and cannot be treated with some other antibiotic.

 

Dosage:

Dosage of Paraxin 1% Ointment varies depending on the age and weight of the patient. The dosage generally given is as follows:

• Take little amount of ointment and apply on the affected area in every three hours.

 

Side effects:

Side effects caused by Chloramphenicol 1% Ointment do not require any medical attention. Major side effects are seen in rare cases. But you need to consult your doctor if any of the symptoms persists.
