Nebivolol 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, 20mg Tablets are a Beta – Blocker agent belonging to the class of Beta -1 Selective. Bystolic is the international name of this drug. In Indian pharmacies, it is known by the name of Nubeta and Nebicip.

Purpose:

Nebivolol 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, 20mg Tablets are used in following conditions:

  • Treating high blood pressure (Hypertension).
  • Reducing the risk of cardiovascular events.
  • It also prevents kidney problems by lowering high blood pressure.

 

Mechanism:

Nubeta tablets block the activity and release of certain natural substances in the body, such as epinephrine. Their action on blood vessels and the heart is obstructed. This process helps in lowering the blood pressure, heart rate, and strain on the heart.

 

Dosage:

  • Strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • The recommended dosage of Nebicip for effective results is 5 mg, daily, with or without food.
  • If the results do not show up, the dose can be increased to 40 mg maximum.
  • For patients having renal impairment, the initial dose taken should be 2.5 mg, once daily.

 

Side effects:

  • Common side effects of Nebivolol 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, 20mg Tablets are nausea, headache, dizziness, vomiting, tiredness, lightheadedness, and trouble sleeping.
  • Your hands and feet might feel cold, due to the reduction in blood flow to these sites.
  • Serious side effects of Bystolic tablets are unusual tiredness, sudden weight gain, shortness of breath, swelling in feet or hands, mood changes, confusion, symptoms of depression, fainting, and very slow heartbeat.
  • Other side effects of Nubeta tablets can be paraesthesia, hypercholesterolemia, asthenia, decrease in HDL cholesterol, psoriasis, vertigo, bronchospasm, and acute pulmonary edema.

 

Precautions and measures:

  • Nubeta drug shouldn’t be consumed during pregnancy, as the blood supply can get decreased to the unborn baby and result in the death of the baby.
  • Nebivolol 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, 20mg Tablets can lead to dizziness and fatigue. Any task which requires attention should be done cautiously.
  • This medication due to its lipophilic nature can cross the blood-brain barrier.
  • Nebicip can only control high blood pressure but not cure it.
  • Do not drop the medication in between without the guidance of your doctor.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed amount, as it may lead to a slower heartbeat, shortness of breath, or acute heart failure.
  • Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while consuming Nebicip.

 

Interactions:

These Tablets should not be consumed along with Fingolimod drug, as it might lead to reverse working of the former medication.
