Epoetin Beta 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,5000IU,10000IU,30000IU Injection is a Haematopoietic Agent that helps in bringing up the count of Red Blood Cells (RBCs). It is a colorless solution that works by signalling the bone marrow to increase the production of red blood cells. NeoRecormon is the universal name of this drug, by which it is available in pharmacies.

Purpose:

• Prevention of anemia of prematurity in infants with a birth weight of 750 to 1500 g and gestational age of fewer than 34 weeks.
• Treatment of symptomatic anemia in pediatric and adult patients associated with chronic renal failure by the use of NeoRecormon.
• Treatment of symptomatic anemia with non-myeloid malignancies going through chemotherapy in adult patients.

 

Mechanism:

Epoetin Beta 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,5000IU,10000IU,30000IU Injection is a glycoprotein that encourages the formation of erythrocytes from its concerned progenitors. It acts as a differentiation hormone.

 

Dosage:

• As directed by your physician/doctor.
• The recommended dosage for effective results is once every 1-3 weeks.
• The initial dose should not exceed 30,000 International Units per week.
• The maximum dose of Epoetin Beta 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,5000IU,10000IU,30000IU Injection should not exceed 60,000 International Units per week, in case of severe fall in Red Blood Cells.

 

Side effects:

• Increase in blood pressure
• Aggravation of existing hypertension
• Severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs)
• Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN)
• Very serious anemia can show up if NeoRecormon is used for longer than required.
• There can be some fatal side effects such as blood clots in the lungs or legs, heart attack, or stroke.
• If you notice the occurrence of seizures, consult your doctor right away.
• Common side effects of Epoetin Beta 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,5000IU,10000IU,30000IU Injection are cough, headache, body ache, and irritation or redness at the site of injection.

 

Precautions and measures:

• Inform your doctor if you’re allergic to darbepoetin alfa.
• Your doctor should be aware of your medical history of heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, severe anemia caused by antibodies to past erythropoietin-type treatment, or seizure disorder.
• During pregnancy, this drug should be consumed only if necessary.
• Store NeoRecormon injection in a refrigerator.
• Protect the vial from light.
• Before using this injection on the skin, clean the desired area with alcohol wipes.
• This drug is meant for single use only.
• It should be administered in patients via a subcutaneous path only.
• It should be made sure that while injecting the syringe, the injection is not in contact with the blood vessel.

Enough amount of iron should be included in the patient’s diet.
