Ascorbic acid is commonly called as vitamin C.  The ascorbic acid 25% injection is used for the treatment of

  • treatment of scurvy- the deficiency of vitamin C

The medication can also be used alone or with any other drug.   The ascorbic acid injection comes under the international brand name of redoxon and Indian brand name of livocee.  The medicine belongs to the category of the drugs called as vitamins and water soluble drugs.

  1. The redoxon injection is prescribed mainly for the treatment of scurvy in patients.
  2. Those with acute deficiency are treated with parenteral administration of the ascorbic acid 25% injection.
