Ascorbic acid is commonly called as vitamin C.  The ascorbic acid 25% injection is used for the treatment of

  • treatment of scurvy- the deficiency of vitamin C
  • as the agent for adjuvant therapy
  • acts as supplements
  • in treatment of urinary acidification

The medication can also be used alone or with any other drug.   The ascorbic acid injection comes under the international brand name of redoxon and Indian brand name of livocee.  The medicine belongs to the category of the drugs called as vitamins and water soluble drugs.

 

Measures and Precautions

  1. The redoxon injection is prescribed mainly for the treatment of scurvy in patients.
  2. Those with acute deficiency are treated with parenteral administration of the ascorbic acid 25% injection.
  3. The infusion of livocee injection should be carefully infused in the body of the user.
  4. The users should tell about any allergic symptoms he or she have before the infusion of the ascorbic acid 25% injection.
