Streptokinase 1.5miu injection belongs to the category of thrombocytic agents. This injection is helpful in the treatment of symptoms of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

The medication comes in the brand name of Icikinase in the pharma market.  Streptokinase injection may or may not be used with other medications.

 

How does it work?

Icikinase injection contains active ingredients consisting of sterile, and purified preparation of the streptococci bacteria.  This accounts for the thrombocytic agents.

 

Measures and Precautions

1. Streptokinase 1.5miu injection is effective in children as well as adults also.
2. This injection is infused intravenously through the intracoronary route in the patients.
3. Administer the streptokinase injection with the help of an expert healthcare worker or doctor.
4. In heart failures also, the injection is effective and used to reduce the symptoms.
5. Before starting the doses of the streptokinase 1.5miu injection, tell your doctor about your whole medical history and the medicines you are taking.
6. Repeated infusions of the injection can cause a decrease in plasminogen and fibrinogen levels. This indicates the requirement of regular check-ups for it.
7. If any user is having active internal bleeding symptoms, then he or she should tell the doctor about it before prescribing the doses.
8. The dosages of the Ickinase are based on the patient’s medical history, response to the treatment. After assessing the whole medical condition of the patients, the dose is prescribed by the concerned doctor.
9. In case of internal bleeding cases, streptokinase injection is not recommended as it can lead to excessive bleeding.
10. Icikinase injection can be used with the other anticoagulants to treat the symptoms of complicated bleeding.

12. Always consult the doctor, if any side effects arise or persist for more than 3 days.
13. Breastfeeding and pregnant women should not be these injections, as it is not good for infants and unborn children.

Interactions

Streptokinase 1.5miu injection may or may not be used alone.  It can be combined with anticoagulants for combating the symptoms of AMI.
