Zaleplon 5mg, 10mg Capsules are sleep aids used by people who have a troubling sleeping schedule. They are easily available in pharmacies abroad by the name of Sonata and in India, they are marketed under Hyplon. These capsules contain zaleplon as an active ingredient. This medication is categorized under hypnotics and sedatives.

 

Purpose:

• It is used for treating insomnia in the short-term.
• It relaxes specific centers in the brain that help you fall asleep.
• The results of consuming Hyplon by people have shown a decrease in taking time to sleep.

 

Dosage:

• Underweight individuals are advised to take 5mg of Sonata capsules.
• Doses above 20mg are not recommended for any age group.
• The most recommended and effective dosage of Hyplon is 10mg.
• Patients under treatment of hepatic and renal impairment should not consume more than 5mg Capsules of Zaleplon in a day.

Side effects:

• Frequent: neck rigidity, chest pain, face edema, chills, dry mouth, myalgia, anxiety, nervousness, taste perversion, bronchitis, abnormal thinking, pruritus among others.
• Rare side effects of consuming Zaleplon 5mg, 10mg Capsules albuminuria, menopause, acne, eczema, asthma, decreased libido, osteoporosis, hyperglycemia, purapura, gum hemorrhage, hypertension, palpitation among others.
• If any of the side effects persist for long or worsen, stop consuming the medication and immediately contact your doctor.

Precautions and measures:

• Only consume it when going to bed or an hour before going to bed.
• Sleep-walking behaviors have been noticed in people consuming Hyplon and therefore they should be assisted to avoid injuries during that time.
• The benefits and risks of this medicine during pregnancy should be consulted with your doctor and only then it should be consumed.
• Overdose can lead to central nervous system depression and hence should not be done.
• Sufficient amounts of fluids should be consumed when on medication of Zaleplon 5mg, 10mg Capsules.
• If you have had or have a liver or breathing, it should be completely informed to your doctor.
• Studies have shown the release of these tablets in breast milk, and hence should only be consumed by lactating mothers under the advice of a doctor.

 

Interactions:

• Products like sodium oxybate and melatonin can have serious effects on the working of Zaleplon 5mg, 10m Capsules.
• Cimetidine, rifampin, phenytoin among others can completely remove the effect of this medication.

 

Storage:

• Zaleplon 5mg, 10mg Capsules should be stored at room temperature of 25°C.
• Keep this medication away from moisture, light, and dampness.
• These tablets should be kept out of reach of pets and children.
