Pioglitazone 30mg + Metformin 500mg Tablets are an antidiabetic agent. They are an inhibitor of the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 enzyme. This medicine is known by the name Actoplus met XR internationally. And in India, it is known by the name Exermet – P 530.

Purpose:

  • Pioglitazone 30mg + Metformin 500mg Tablets are used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus by lowering and balancing the blood sugar level.
  • Other problems like blindness, kidney damage, loss of limbs, nerve problems, and sexual function problems are also controlled by this medication.
  • Adjuvant therapy in insulin-dependent diabetes especially if overweight.

 

Mechanism:

  • Actoplus met XR tablets slow down the action of certain enzymes that break down food into sugars. Because of this, the digestion of carbohydrates slows down and prevents your blood sugar level from rising high after you eat.
  • More insulin is produced in the pancreas, and excess sugar is reduced in the liver.

Side effects:

  • Serious side effects are swelling in the stomach, yellowing of skin or eyes, swelling of the skin, and pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis.

Precautions:
