Sildenafil Citrate 100mg tablets, popularly known as Viagra is used to treat males suffering from erectile dysfunction. In India, it is also known as Eunice.

Uses

  • These tablets relax the muscles of the blood vessels and increase blood flow to some particular areas of the body.
  • Another brand of Sildenafil is called Revatio. It is generally used in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and generally improves exercise capacity in men and women.

 

Dosage

  • It is a prescription drug. So, take Sildenafil Citrate 100mg tablets exactly as it is prescribed to you. Following directions on the prescription label and reading all medication guides or instruction sheets is absolutely necessary.
  • It should be taken only when it’s a need, probably 30 minutes to 1 hour before any sexual activity. A person may take it up to 4 hours before sexual activity. Taking Eunice more than once can be extremely harmful.
  • Eunice has not been confirmed to be safe or effective in children less than 18 years.

 

Side effects

Sildenafil Citrate 100mg Tablets can cause various side effects that can be minor and major both.

Common side effects:

  • Nosebleeds
  • Headaches
  • Upset stomach

  • An erection that lasts longer than normal
  • Respiratory infection
  • Nausea

Serious side effects:

  • Low blood pressure. Symptoms may include blurry vision, nausea or vomiting, sleepiness, weakness, confusion, dizziness, fainting, lightheadedness.
  • It usually increases shortness of breath or trouble breathing.
  • Priapism is basically an erection that won’t go away and its symptoms can include: an erection that lasts more than 4 hours.
  • Vision problems: Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes.
  • Hearing problems: sudden hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness.
  • Heart problems like heart attack, stroke, or irregular heart rate. Symptoms can include chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, trouble speaking, confusion, lightheadedness, nausea or vomiting.

 

Important warnings

Priapism warning: Sildenafil Citrate 100mg tablets can sometimes cause priapism, which is an erection that won’t go away for hours. If you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, calling 911 or going to the nearest emergency room is a must. If it’s not treated right away, this condition can cause permanent damage to the penis.

Sudden vision loss warning: Eunice can cause sudden vision loss in one or both eyes. This can definitely be a sign of a serious eye problem. If this occurs even once it is wise to call your doctor immediately.

Sudden hearing loss warning: Viagra can cause hearing loss, tinnitus or dizziness. If you are having sudden hearing loss it is wise to stop taking it and call your doctor right away.

Use in children warning: Children with PAH who take these pills may be at high risk of death. Children should not take Sildenafil without consultation.
