Hydroquinone 2% + Oxybenzone3% + Octyl Methoxycinnamate 5% Cream is a depigmenting agent. This cream is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for hyperpigmented skin conditions. It is available internationally by the name of Eldoquin Forte and also Solaquin Forte. In India, you can get it in the brand name Eukroma – SG.

 

Purpose:

• To lighten the dark patches of skin such as freckles, melasma, liver spots among others, Eukroma – SG cream is used.
• Solaquin prevents spots from returning due to ultraviolet light exposure or sunlight because of the presence of sunscreen in it.
• The process in the skin is blocked by Hydroquinone that prevents discolouration.
• It decreases the formation of melanin.

 

Dosage:

• Hydroquinone 2% + Oxybenzone3% + Octyl Methoxycinnamate 5% Cream should be applied twice daily on the affected area or as prescribed by the doctor.
• This cream should be used at the same time daily.
• It can be used for 2 months or more, for visible positive results to occur.

 

Side effects:

• There can be cracking or blue-black darkening of the skin due to the usage of Solaquin Forte, which shouldn’t be ignored but informed to the doctor immediately.
• Serious allergic reactions to hydroquinone are rare.
• Redness, burning sensation, dryness among other mild symptoms might occur when on medication Eukroma – SG.

 

Precautions and Measures:

• Before treating the affected area, Eldoquin Forte should be tested on the unbroken skin and checked for any rashes, puffiness etc.
• It shouldn’t be used for any other skin condition which has no discolouration.
• Do not share your medication with others as well as for future purposes by you.
• This medication of Hydroquinone during pregnancy should be used only when necessarily needed.
• Any previous skin conditions or asthma should be seriously taken into consideration.
• Patients ailing with previous disease(s), pregnant and lactating women should provide a full history of their health condition to the doctor so that he/she provides you with the most effective medication.
• It should not be used when there is extreme inflammation or itching.
• Do not use it inside your mouth, ears, and eyes. If it happens so quickly rinse it off.

 

Storage:

• Eukroma – SG cream should be stored at room temperature of 25°C.
• Keep Hydroquinone 2% + Oxybenzone3% + Octyl Methoxycinnamate 5% Cream away from moisture, light, and dampness.
• Keep it out of reach of pets and children.
• Do not use expired medication.

 

Interactions:

This medication of Hydroquinone 2% + Oxybenzone3% + Octyl Methoxycinnamate 5% Cream has no known interactions of decreasing its effect or increasing its side-effects with other drugs.
