Etizolam 0.5 mg, 1 mg Tablets marketed with brand names Depas 0.5 mg, 1 mg Tablets and Pasaden 0.5 mg, 1 mg Tablets (international) and Etilaam MD 0.5 mg, 1 mg Tablets (national) is a benzodiazepine analogue. It has sleep aid, hypnotic and sedative properties.

Uses:

Etizolam 0.5 mg, 1 mg Tablets has properties that provide a soothing sensation to the body. It is used for:

  • For the treatment of short-term insomnia (sleeplessness).
  • For the treatment of short-term anxiety disorders.

 

Dosage:

Dosage of Etilaam MD 0.5 mg, 1 mg tablets differs according to the disorder to be treated and tolerance power of an individual. It is consumed orally. General dosage given to the patients is:

  • For treating insomnia- 1 to 2 mg daily
  • For treating anxiety- 0.25 to 0.5 mg two times daily
  • For treating panic disorders- 0.5 mg two times daily

 

Caution:

Etizolam 0.5 mg, 1 mg tablets is for short term usage. It should not be prescribed beyond 12 weeks.

 

Side effects:

Etilaam MD 0.5 mg, 1 mg tablets is said to be well tolerated with little side effects. But some people may experience typical effects too. Side effects caused by the powder are:

  • Do not mix it with alcohol as it may result in serious side effects (coma or death).
  • If you are on any other medication, tell your doctor.
  • Etilaam MD 0.5 mg, 1 mg tablets increases the risk of drowsiness. Do not drive or operate heavy machines while being on the medication.
  • Do not use for long-term. Prolonged usage may cause severe physical withdrawal symptoms.
  • Inform your doctor if you suffer from any eye disorder.
  • Inform your doctor if you have any liver or lung disorder
