Epoetin Alfa 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,6000IU,8000IU,10000IU,40000IU PF Syringe is a Haematopoietic Agent. It is used to increase the lower levels of red blood cells (anaemia). It is known by the name of Eprex in India as well as internationally. However, Procrit is another name by which it is available abroad.

 

Purpose:

Procrit syringe is indicated for:

  • Anaemia caused due to chronic renal failure in paediatric and adult patients on dialysis.
  • To limit the decline in haemoglobin in anaemic adults undergoing major surgery.
  • Anaemia in patients with non-myeloid malignancies.

 

Mechanism:

Epoetin Alfa 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,6000IU,8000IU,10000IU,40000IU PF Syringe is a glycoprotein hormone produced primarily by the kidney in response to hypoxia and is the key regulator of red blood cell production. After Eprex binds to its cell surface receptor, it stimulates erythroid cell proliferation.

Dosage:

  • Strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • The recommended dosage for effective results is usually 1-3 times a week.
  • The dosage is based on your response to treatment, medical condition, and weight.

Side effects:

  • Common side effects of Epoetin Alfa 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,6000IU,8000IU,10000IU,40000IU PF Syringe are increased blood pressure, fever, vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and tiredness.
  • Serious side effects are blood clots in the legs, or lungs, fainting, unusual sweating, warmth in the groin, blood clots in your hemodialysis vascular access site, sudden vision changes, trouble speaking, and severe headaches.

 

Precautions and measures:

  • If you are allergic to Darbepoetin Alfa, an Eprex syringe is not meant for your consumption.
  • If you have had a medical history of seizure disorder, high blood pressure, heart stroke, or pure red cell aplasia, inform your doctor about the same before starting with Epoetin Alfa 1000IU,2000IU,3000IU, 4000IU,6000IU,8000IU,10000IU,40000IU PF Syringe.
  • Pregnant and lactating women should only consume this drug under the strict guidance of their doctor.
  • It is meant to be injected into your vein.
  • Keep a regular check on your blood pressure.
  • It should be given as a single injection.
  • The product should not be consumed if floating particles are visible in the liquid, the seal is broken, there has been a refrigeration failure, or the liquid is colored.
  • Do not shake the vial before administration.

Interactions:

Eprex syringe is very much similar to Epoetin Alfa-epbx, and should not be consumed simultaneously with the former medication.
