Celecoxib 100mg, 200mg Capsules is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of acute pain or inflammation. It belongs to the category of NSAIDs. It is known by the brand names Celebrex and Celebra worldwide. In India, it is available under the brand name Colcibra.

Uses

  • Celebrex capsules are used to treat various forms of inflammation and arthritis such as ankylosing spondylitis.
  • It is also used as a painkiller and to relieve menstrual cramps.

 

Dosage

  • The dosage of Celecoxib 100mg, 200mg Capsules depends on various factors such as the patient’s age, disease, the severity of the disease, reaction to the first dose, etc.
  • This medication must be taken according to the prescription of a doctor.
  • Adult dosage for osteoarthritis (above 18 years of age) – 200mg once per day or 100mg twice a day.
  • For rheumatoid arthritis- in adults 100 to 200mg twice a day, for children ageing 2 years to 17 years 50 to 100mg twice a day.
  • Dosage for ankylosing spondylitis for adults above 18 years of age- 200mg once daily or 100 mg twice a day.
  • Dosage for adults (above 18 years) for acute pain, inflammation and menstrual cramps 400 mg as the first dose and 200 mg after 8-12 hours, if required.
  • Take Celebra at a specific time every day for best results.

Precautions

  • Combining alcohol with Celecoxib 100mg, 200mg Capsules can raise your risk of stomach bleeding.
  • For people with heart disease: If you have a history of heart disease or other chronic diseases, you shouldn’t take Colcibra. It may increase the risk of blood clots, heart attack, and stroke.
  • For people with stomach problems: If you have a history of stomach bleeding or ulcers, you’re at a higher risk of a severe side effect which may be tremendously fatal.
  • For people with sulfonamide allergy: If you’re allergic to medications that contain sulfonamide, you shouldn’t take Celecoxib 100mg, 200mg Capsules. You may experience mild to major skin reactions. Report any such symptom to your doctor right away in case of emergency.
