Purpose

The medication comes under the international brand name of Lexapro and an Indian brand name of Cipralex.

 

How does it work?

The active ingredient in these tablets is escitalopram which belongs to the category of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI).  Lexapro tablets work by balancing the disturbed chemicals in the brain and hence, restores the lost balance. the tablets also improve the energy levels of the user body and feelings of well-being. At the same time, it also decreases nervousness and stress.

 

Measures and precautions

Some interaction reactions are seen with drugs like clopidogrel, warfarin, NSAIDs, ibuprofen.  With MAO inhibitors, the tablets interact and cause severe hazards to the user body. the use of aspirin is also prohibited with the usage of thesetablets as they increase bleeding in users profusely.
