Buspirone hydrochloride 5 mg, 10 mg tablets available by brand names Buspar 5 mg, 10 mg tablets (international) and Buspin 5 mg, 10 mg tablets (national) belongs to anxiolytics class of drugs.

Uses:

Being non-benzodiazepines, Buspirone hydrochloride 5 mg, 10 mg tablets works by altering the effects caused by neurotransmitters. Buspar 5 mg, 10 mg tablets are used to treat anxiety disorders. It alters the chemicals causing sleeplessness, irritation, sweating, increased heart rate, tiredness, unwanted thinking.

 

Dosage:

Dosage of Buspin 5 mg, 10 mg tablets varies depending upon the age groups.

• For adults- 10-15 mg per day in divided doses for anxiety disorders.
  • • 30-60 mg per day in divided doses for 2-3 months in case of anxiety caused due to smoking.

• Below 12 years- 2.5-5 mg per day in divided doses not exceeding than 20 mg.
• Above 12 years- 5-10 mg per day in divided doses not exceeding than 60 mg.

 

Side effects:

Side effects caused by Buspin 5 mg, 10 mg tablets varies from being major to minor. Consult your doctor if the symptom persists.

• The medicine makes you feel dizzy and drowsy. Do not drive, operate heavy machines or drink alcohol while being on the medication.
• Do not drink large amounts of grapefruit juice.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or lactating. Your physician will decide whether to prescribe medicine in these conditions or not.
• Inform your doctor beforehand if you suffer from vision problems or Parkinson’s disease as the drug may elevate the symptoms.
