Botulinum Toxin Type A 50 IU, 100 IU Injection is an Anti Wrinkle, Muscle Relaxant agent. It is a Botulinum Toxin, a Neuromuscular Blocker. It is known by the name Botox worldwide:

 

Purpose:

  • Botulinum Toxin Type A 50 IU, 100 IU Injection is used to treat symptoms of severe underarm sweating, incontinence, migraine prevention, muscle stiffness or spasms, and overactive bladder.
  • Certain eye disorders are also treated with this solution.
  • Problems of excess saliva or drooling can also be cured with Botox injection.

 

Mechanism:

A type of bacteria Clostridium Botulinum Type A creates this protein Botox. This blocks the release of acetylcholine (a chemical). This relieves symptoms such as urinary frequency and urgency and temporarily weakens nerve activity in the muscles around your bladder. The pain signals in migraines are also blocked by this solution and treat involuntary muscle contractions.

 

Dosage:

  • Strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • The recommended dosage of Botulinum Toxin Type A 50 IU, 100 IU Injection for effective results is 50 IU divided into 5 injections.
  • The maximum cumulative dose should not increase by 400 IU, in a month.

Side effects:

  • Common side effects of Ifosfamide 1gm with 3 ampoules of 200mg Mesna Injection are nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, headache, restlessness, tension among others.
  • Serious side effects can be Alopecia, Dermatitis, Anorexia, Cardiotoxicity, Stomatitis, Renal dysfunction, Malaise, Hypotension, Memory impairment, Tremor, Urinary incontinence, Hallucinations, Myoclonus, Pulmonary oedema among others. If you experience any sign of the above-stated effects, consult your doctor right away

Precautions and measures:

  • To help in the prevention of urinary problems, drink a good amount of water and urinate often.
  • If this medication enters your eyes or touches your skin, thoroughly wash with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and then seek medical help.
  • Avoid contact with people who have communicable sufferings like chickenpox, flu, measles among others.
  • Limit your intake of alcohol and marijuana as this drug is likely to make you feel dizzy and sleepy.
  • If you have ever had a medical history of liver disease, anaemia, radiation treatment problem, kidney disease, low blood cell counts, or blockage of urination, inform your doctor before getting on this medication.
  • Do not get any vaccinations or immunizations during the tenure of Botox with Uromitexan injection.
  • This medication might slow down the process of healing wounds.

 

Interactions:

Some products that might react with Botulinum Toxin Type A 50 IU, 100 IU Injection are Aminoglycosides, Warfarin, Rivastigmine, Pyridostigmine, and Quinidine.
