Purpose:

• Gemcitabine 200mg, 1000mg Injection is used to treat breast cancer in combination with Paclitaxel.
• Ovarian cancer is treated in combination with Carboplatin.
• Bladder and non-small cell lung cancer is treated alone with Gemzar injection.
• Metastatic adenocarcinoma of the pancreas is also treated by this solution.

 

Mechanism:

Gemcite injection blocks the growth of RNA and DNA of cancer cells by obstructing their building blocks. This prevents the multiplication and growth of cancer cells.

 

Dosage:

• Strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
• The recommended dosage for effective results is 1000mg on days 1 and 8, of each 21-day cycle, for non-small lung cancer patients.
• The recommended dosage for effective results is 1250 mg, on days 1 and 8, of each 21-day cycle, for breast cancer patients.

 

Side effects:

• Common side effects of Gemcitabine 200mg, 1000mg Injection are: hot flashes, headache, constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, redness at the site of injection, trouble in sleeping, upset stomach.
• Serious side effects of Gemcite include anxiety, depression, a cough that doesn’t go away, sore throat, persistent fever, frequent urination, shortness of breath, joint pain, mood changes, and tingling of arms. If you experience any of them, consult your doctor right away.
• Asthenia, musculoskeletal pain, myalgia, arthralgia, flu syndrome, pelvic pain, urinary tract infection, anorexia, and leukopenia are some other side effects of this injection.
