Details

Vinorelbine 10mg, 50mg Injection is an anti cancer drug belonging to the group vinca alkaloids.

Vinca alkaloids are structurally the same and derived from periwinkle plants, Vinca rosea but they have different pharmaceutical properties.

Vinorelbine (VRB) is one of the vinca alkaloids which is less neurotoxic than others.

It is cell cycle specific and affects the mitosis of tumor cells in the M phase and generally used in the combination with other anticancer drugs.

Mechanism of action: It acts by binding to the tubulin protein that blocks the tubulin to form microtubules instead paracrystalline aggregates are formed. This nonfunctional apparatus is frozen in metaphase preventing chromosomal segregation and cancer cell proliferation.

It is available as Navelbine in International and Vinorelmil  in Indian markets.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Vinorelmil (Vinorelbine) used for?

Vinorelmil contains vinorelbine, a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid anticancer medicine. Vinorelbine injection is used in the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Depending on the applicable regulatory approval, vinorelbine may also be used in the treatment of advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

2. How does Vinorelmil (Vinorelbine) work?

Vinorelbine works by interfering with microtubule assembly, which is essential for cell division. It binds to tubulin and inhibits mitosis, particularly during the metaphase stage, thereby interfering with the growth and multiplication of rapidly dividing cancer cells.

3. What strength of Vinorelmil injection is available?

Vinorelbine injection is supplied as a sterile solution containing 10 mg of vinorelbine per mL. Available vial presentations can vary by manufacturer and market, so international buyers should confirm the required strength, vial size, packaging, and current availability with Lotus International before placing an order.

4. How is Vinorelmil administered?

Vinorelmil (vinorelbine) is administered by intravenous injection or infusion under appropriate medical supervision. Treatment dosage and frequency depend on the cancer type, treatment protocol, combination medicines, and patient-specific factors. Blood counts require careful monitoring because vinorelbine can cause significant myelosuppression, including neutropenia.

5. Can international buyers source Vinorelmil from Lotus International?

Yes. Lotus International supplies oncology and anticancer medicines from India for international pharmaceutical markets and accepts bulk orders. Importers, pharmaceutical distributors, wholesalers, hospitals, and procurement organizations can contact Lotus International regarding Vinorelmil (Vinorelbine) injection, including product availability, quantities, packaging, documentation, and export requirements.
