Tadalafil 20mg Oral Jelly is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction in males. It is available by the brand name Cialis all over the world. In India, it can be found by the name of Apcalis – SX.

Uses

  • It is used to treat sexual function problems in males, mostly erectile dysfunction.
  • Cialis oral jelly is utilised in the treatment of symptoms of enlarged prostate also known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).
  • It is also used to treat Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH).

How does it work?

Apcalis – SX has an active salt PDE-5 Inhibitor which helps in relaxing muscles in the penile blood vessels resulting in an increased blood flow to the penis. This helps in to get and keep an erection, thus, treating erectile dysfunction.

When used for the treatment of PAH, it relaxes the blood vessels in lungs to help blood flow easily. In BPH, it calms the smooth muscles in the bladder or prostate thus easing and controlling frequent urination.

Dosage

  • It is advised to take Tadalafil 20mg Oral Jelly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • If you are taking it on your own then take only one dose per day.
  • Take it one hour before sexual intercourse.
  • While taking it, do not crush this oral gelly, swallow it as a whole with water or milk.
  • You can take it on an empty stomach or after having a meal.

Side effects

Common side effects-

  • Headache

  • back pain
  • muscle pain
  • stuffy nose
  • Flushing
  • Dizziness

 

Rare but serious side effects- if you experience any of the following reactions in your body while taking Apcalis – SXand they persist for a long time, then seek medical attention immediately:

  • If you have a heart problem and symptoms like severe dizziness, nausea, fainting, pain in chest, jaw or left arm.
  • Sudden vision loss including permanent blindness in one or both eyes
  • Loss of hearing, ringing in ears.
  • Troubled breathing.
  • Rash, allergy, itching, swelling in face, tongue or throat.
  • Other unknown side effects may also occur.

 

Precautions and measures

  • For suitable treatment, doctor’s consultation is recommended.
  • Apcalis – SX must not be taken by adults less than 18 years of age.
  • Women are not advised to take this medication, it is only prescribed to men.
  • If you are allergic to Tadalafil, then do not take it.
  • Before beginning the treatment, telling your doctor about your medical history is a must.
  • Do not use Tadalafil 20mg Oral Jelly with alcohol.
  • If you have heart problems, liver and kidney problems, then taking advice from a doctor is mandatory.
  • It is not suitable to take it with drugs like Riociguat and nitrates.

The drug is used to treat issues and diseases like ED, PAH and BPH only. It does not prevent sexually transmitted diseases like HIV-AIDS, Hepatitis B, Gonorrhoea, etc.
